I’m having trouble with Vomo Ai after trying to use it for voice notes and transcriptions. It suddenly stopped working the way I expected, and now I can’t get my recordings or accurate text results. I need help figuring out what went wrong and how to fix it so I can use Vomo Ai again.
Start with the simple stuff.
- Force close Vomo AI.
- Reboot your phone.
- Check app permissions. Mic, storage, speech recognition.
- Test one short recording, 10 to 20 seconds.
- Switch networks. Try Wi-Fi, then mobile data.
- Update the app.
- Log out, then log back in.
If recordings are missing, check:
- Drafts or unsynced files
- Recently deleted
- Your account email, wrong login happens a lot
- iCloud or Google Drive sync status
If transcription is bad, look at:
- Mic quality
- Background noise
- Accent or mixed languages
- App language setting
- Audio format
A fast test helps. Record, “Today is Monday. Testing Vomo transcription.” If it still fails, the issue is probly app-side, not your phone.
Last step, reinstall it. If you do, back up anything local first or you might lose it.
If you post your phone model, iOS or Android version, and what exactly changed, people here can narrow it down fast.
I’d add one angle that @viajantedoceu didn’t really get into: check whether Vomo changed its transcription model or plan limits on your account. A lot of these apps quietly move features behind a paywall or reduce transcription quality after a usage cap, and it looks like the app is “broken” when it’s really an account/server issue.
A few things I’d check:
- Export the raw audio first, if that option still works. If the audio file sounds fine outside Vomo, then the recording part is probly okay and the problem is just transcription.
- Look at file length and size. Some apps choke on long recordings and either fail silently or return garbage text.
- Try an older recording that used to transcribe correctly. If old files now fail too, that points more to Vomo’s backend than your device.
- Check App Store/Play Store reviews from the last week or two. If a recent update broke things, other people will be yelling about it there.
- If you use Bluetooth earbuds or a car mic, disconnect them. I’ve seen apps grab the wrong input source and the result is muffled nonsense.
- Set your phone date/time to automatic. Sounds dumb, but auth and sync bugs can happen if the clock is off.
I slightly disagree with reinstalling right away. For apps with local drafts, that can make a bad situation worse if sync is already busted. I’d only do that after confirming your recordings are backed up somewhere.
If you can, say whether the issue is:
- recordings not saving,
- recordings saving but not playing,
- transcription stuck processing,
- transcription finishing but text is trash.
Those are four very diff problems.
I’d go one layer deeper than what @viajantedoceu covered: permissions and language settings are often the real culprit with Vomo Ai.
Check these specifically:
- Microphone permission
- Speech recognition permission
- Background app refresh
- Low power mode
- Storage space below 1 to 2 GB free
- Selected transcription language or auto-detect
If Vomo Ai records but the text is awful, wrong language detection is a huge suspect. If it stops when your screen locks, battery optimization may be killing the session.
I actually do think reinstalling can help sometimes, but only after confirming the recordings are safely exported or synced.
Pros of Vomo Ai:
- Simple voice-note workflow
- Fast when servers behave
- Good for meetings and quick ideas
Cons:
- Can be flaky after updates
- Cloud processing issues are hard to diagnose
- Accuracy drops hard with noise, accents, or bad language selection
Also test on Wi-Fi and mobile data separately. Some transcription jobs fail because of network filtering, not the app itself.
